In solidarity with India amid the Covid-19 crisis, Burj Khalifa illuminated with the Indian tricolour on Sunday.

Landmark buildings in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) illuminated with the Indian tricolour on Sunday in solidarity with the country amid the massive increase in Covid-19 cases. Burj Khalifa in Dubai and the Adnoc headquarters in Abu Dhabi were lit up with the Indian flag.

"Stay Strong India,” is the message that was displayed on the buildings. On Twitter, India In UAE shared a video of the landmark buildings and captioned the post, saying, “As #India battles the gruesome war against #Covid19, its friend #UAE sends its best wishes. @BurjKhalifa in #Dubai lits up to showcase its support.”

The deadly surge in Covid-19 cases and deaths climbed to new records on Sunday as India registered a daily rise of 349,691 new infections and 2,767 deaths in a single day. A total of 2,767 people were reported dead on Sunday, according to health ministry data, taking total coronavirus fatalities to 1,92,311.

The top five states which have registered maximum cases are Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Delhi.
