Ahmedabad, ANI. In the past 24 hours, 366 new positive cases of corona were reported in Gujarat. The total number of positive cases in the state now stands at 11746. 

After the confirmation of 391 new cases in the last 24 hours, the total number of infected people in the state has reached 11380. According to the health department, so far, a total of 4499 patients have returned home while 659 people have died due to this infection.

According to Gujarat State Chief Health Secretary Jayanthi Ravi, 191 patients have been discharged from the hospital after becoming healthy, a total of 4,499 infected patients have been recovered so far in the state. Jayanthi Ravi told that, "In Gujarat, the infection-free rate of corona patients has now gone up to 39.53 percent. According to the information received, 6,222 people are currently being treated for corona infection and 38 patients have been put on ventilator due to their condition being very serious.

2500 prisoners released from jails of Gujarat 

So far, around 2500 prisoners have been released from Gujarat jails due to Corona infection. These prisoners have been released on parole, interim bail and recess to reduce congestion in jails and prevent the spread of corona virus among inmates. It has also been decided to release the prisoners from the jails of Maharashtra.
