Cyclone Amphan: PM Modi's high level meeting with Home Ministry and NDMC to deal with cyclone today

New Delhi, Agencies. PM Modi has called a high level meeting to take stock of the situation after the warning of cyclone 'Amphon' turning into a super cyclone by Monday evening. Home Minister Amit Shah has given this information. This meeting of PM Modi will be with the Ministry of Home Affairs and National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) at 4 pm today. Please tell that the Prime Minister is the chairman of NDMA. 

According to the news agency ANI, earlier the Ministry of Home Affairs informed that Cyclone 'Amphon' could turn into a super cyclone by Monday evening. According to the ministry, the storm will hit the coasts of West Bengal and Bangladesh on Wednesday. During this time the wind speed can be up to 185 kmph.

Home Ministry advice to West Bengal and Odisha governments

According to the news agency PTI, the Ministry of Home Affairs issued an advisory on  cyclonic storm 'Amphun'  while advising the governments of West Bengal and Odisha that 'Amphn' on Monday morning over the central parts of the Bay of South Bengal and the Bay of Central Bengal Was. It has been moving almost northward during the last six hours with a top speed of 13 kmph.

Hurricane can turn into a super cyclone by Monday evening

The Ministry of Home Affairs has further said in the advisory that this storm is likely to turn into a super cyclone by Monday evening. According to news agency PTI, there is a possibility of hitting West Bengal-Bangladesh coast between Digha (West Bengal) and Hatia Islands (Bangladesh) during the afternoon or evening of May 20. During this time the wind speed can range from 155 -165 kilometers per hour to 185 kilometers per hour.
