Bengaluru, The defender of the Indian men's hockey team, Germanpreet Singh Kovid, is trying to cement his further preparations amid the ongoing lockdown due to the 19 pandemic. These days he is watching video footage of previous matches so that he can find out what are the shortcomings in his game and then he can rectify them. They are doing this assessment with the aim of further improving their game. He says that to get more success on the field further, he will come on the field with more passion and strong intentions.

The 24-year-old Germanpreet said that I have been playing at international level for two years and consider myself lucky that I am getting an opportunity to play with senior players like Harmanpreet Singh and Birendra Lakra. He said that during the lockdown I have been watching video footage of my old matches very closely and I have come to know which departments of my game I need to work on. I believe that when I return to training, I will be able to work harder to become a better player. Only after knowing your shortcomings can you overcome it.

The Indian hockey team defender said that head coach Graham Reid and senior players have allowed the youth involved in the team to play freely on the field. Germanpreet said that being one of the young players in the team, our head coach and senior players have asked me to play freely. I am extremely lucky to be playing with a fantastic group of senior players who take more pressure on themselves so that young players can play freely. It is good to show this kind of trust and confidence in young players.
